Blue sky, mild temperatures – what a dazzling day in the city! Outside was beckoning and we could not resist. Riding around NOLA was something we had not done in quite a while. It was wonderful to be outside enjoying the day and the city.

Gary and Molly believed they were. So began The Owl Wine Bar and Home Goods on Main Street in Elgin, TX.
The Owl is a combination of vintage/gently used home goods and wine bar with an outdoor patio for relaxing and visiting with a glass of wine or beer. The store is tastefully done with everything from ice cream bar stools, dining chairs, to settees and coffee tables. The Owl is billed as home goods store meets wine bar. Continue reading

First decision, east or west side of Bayou Lafourche? If you’ve ever driven in South Louisiana you know that for most roads which follow a bayou, there is also another road on the other side of the bayou as well. We usually drive the east side so today we took the west side. Taking the west side, you drive through more of the many small towns while the east side is more countryside.
