Farmers Market – Warsaw MO

Saturday for us means farmers markets and so it was in Warsaw MO. 

The Warsaw Farmers Market, held Saturday from 8-noon, offered a variety of items. We specifically search for fresh fruits and vegetables. This market did not disappoint. Our purchases included tomatoes, squash, peaches and fried pies.  Continue reading

End of the Season

ApplesSouth Louisiana’s climate allows growing seasons all year long. No matter the time of year there is always something being harvested. The farmers markets in the area offer an array of vegetables and fruits on a regular basis. As we travel north, the farmers markets we find are generally seasonal.  In our travels this is one aspect we have to continually remember as we search for local produce. Continue reading

In Search of Mr. Boudreaux – Monroe City, MO


River ViewIn south Louisiana the name Boudreaux is common and can be found in almost any town. In central Missouri, not so. We came upon the M. W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center outside Monroe City, MO. Being from south Louisiana we had to stop and find out about Mr. Boudreaux.
