Cody arrived at the designated time and he and John immediately went to work. They also got Laurie involved when they needed someone in the truck turning on lights, signals, etc. After about an hour the problem was diagnosed.
We had a short between the pin box junction box and the trailer junction box. We knew immediately this was not good and could not be fixed using mobile equipment. And we also realized this had to be repaired. Keeton RV Repair was about 60 miles east of Bowie and we are heading west. No brainer – go back east and have the repairs made. Cody told us the front cap would have to come off and repairs done meaning 3-6 hours. The work would be done Wednesday and we would be back on the road Thursday. There are hookups at the yard so we could stay in Cajunville. Packed up and headed east arriving at Keeton around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. David, owner and Cody’s father, and John started discussing. David thought the work could be done by just lowering a section of the cap and would take about two hours – best case. David suggested we get something to eat, go shopping, etc. and call in two hours.
We were in Valley View, TX, a very small town, just north of Denton. John had an en vie for tacos, hole in the wall place. None to be found but we did find a Fuzzy’s just south in Sanger, TX. Off we go for libations and food.

We decided not to call Keeton’s; just head back and see how things were going. Upon arrival we saw Cody working on the wiring and he told us the job was almost complete. David showed us the old wiring with the short. We soon realized we have been very lucky that nothing caught fire. We were back on the road around 6:30 pm and we decided to travel for about an hour heading west once again.
