Sometimes you expect the same, only things are different. Our first experience with The Tammany Trace began from Fontainebleau State Park through wooded areas, quiet and relaxing. Today, beginning at the Covington trailhead was totally different. Hustle and bustle, traffic, workers, stores, and a mid-day market with people purchasing lunch. But with another perfect south Louisiana day and the trails calling, we began our second biking experience of the Trace by trucking our bikes to the Covington Trailhead and rode toward Abita Springs. Hammond, LA Farmers Market
Saturday morning and we are off to a farmers market in Hammond, LA. The market is in the historic area of town alongside the railroad tracks, which are still used. Luckily for us no trains passed while we were shopping. The market offered the usual items – vegetables, eggs, honey, jams, and crafts. What set this market apart was their frequent shopper card. These cards are popular with coffeehouses and eateries but we have never seen one at a farmers market. Continue reading
Beaumont, TX Farmers Market
The parking area was packed with police directing traffic and volunteers assisting in the parking lot. The crowd was sometimes three deep and tables hard to see. This was our introduction to the Beaumont Farmers Market. In seeking out farmers markets as we RV around the country, Beaumont has an excellent start on a very active local farmers market. We were impressed both with the produce offered and the local support.

Visiting friends in Cecilia, LA meant shopping at the Lafayette Farmers Market. Upon researching we learned that Lafayette has two farmers markets, what joy! Being farmers market fanatics, we were all over this information. Luckily Saturday morning was a beautiful Spring day with blue skies and mild temperatures. WesMar Farms Dairy Market
The goats were staring at us through the fence, curious creatures. Then we saw a group of people visiting; drinking coffee and eating fresh baked bread and sweets. We must be in the right place – WesMar Farms Dairy Market in Moreauville, LA.
What are two Pescatarians doing at a dairy market? That is the question we asked ourselves the first time we visited the WesMar Farms Dairy Market. Never ones to pass up an opportunity to visit a farmers market of any kind, we ventured to WesMar to see what was offered. Continue reading

Longmont, Colorado Farmers Market
After our two week void of farmers markets we are making up for lost markets. Longmont Farmers Market is our second farmers market in three days. Since we are staying at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont and that is where the farmers market is, it was an easy and pleasant walk to the market on Saturday morning.
Boulder, Colorado Farmers Market
The Boulder Farmers Market is a community gathering place offering not only fresh vegetables, fruits, dairy and other items yet also offering prepared foods and a grassy lawn to enjoy those foods while visiting. There was even a Balloon Man forming balloons into various objects for the children to wear and enjoy. After two weeks of no farmers market we were in Farmer Market Heaven!
