After our two week void of farmers markets we are making up for lost markets. Longmont Farmers Market is our second farmers market in three days. Since we are staying at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont and that is where the farmers market is, it was an easy and pleasant walk to the market on Saturday morning.
The Longmont market is in an area of the parking lot that is concrete with wide walkways. Vendors set up on each side of the walkway with ample room for browsing, walking and purchasing. Again there were numerous farmers as well as prepared food. We purchased a breakfast wrap with egg and potatoes as well as fried bread stuffed with black beans. After adding a cup of coffee that met both of our south Louisiana expectations we had a breakfast of wonderful flavors.
After satisfying our hunger, we were ready to shop for fresh items. First we saw the wine booth and decided to try some Colorado wine and liked what we tasted. We purchased three bottles from Bookcliff Vineyards – Chardonnay, Riesling, and Lucky Twenty. We moved on to Saint Vrain Vineyard & Winery where we purchased Cathy’s White, an American table wine.
We were now ready to face the farmers where we purchased melons, tomatoes, greens, carrots, turnips, Bloody Mary Mix and fresh pasta.
We enjoyed the Longmont Farmers Market which also offered entertainment for our shopping enjoyment.
