Schoenstatt Wayside Shrine – Delphi, IN

Beautiful Place

Bike trails bring us to beautiful, scenic, historic and unusual places. Most are not intended; we ride for the enjoyment of riding. The end result is a treasure given to us and we relish whatever we find. Sometimes, that treasure is most unexpected and unusual. The narrow, overgrown path with tall grass on each side characterized this section of the Delphi IN Historic Trails. Eagle Watch

Is he watching us as we are watching him?  We wondered this as we watched the huge bird perched at the very top of the tallest tree in the area.  It was a bare tree, dead, no leaves, yet tall as if it were there just for him.  Yes, no mistake about it, the white head gave him away – an American Bald Eagle.  He was a huge majestic creature and a rarity for us to witness.  As we watched, he flew off with his gigantic wing spread – we stood in awe.  Continue reading

A Fall Weekend in Tickfaw State Park Louisiana

Tickfaw State Park — Birds chirping, wind rustling in the trees, and a beautiful blue sky, what more could you want for relaxation.  That is what we experienced and more at Tickfaw State Park in Springfield, LA.  Our time spent at the park was very relaxing and that is exactly what we needed.

Get That Exercise – Bike the RV Trail

A while back, we decided to begin bike riding for exercise and for the most part we enjoy the exercise, being outdoors, doing something together, and hopefully benefiting from the activity.  We ordered two bikes from Wally World (more on that in another post) and mountied two Thule Low Rider Bike Mounts on the bed of the truck just behind the headache rack — thus began our adventure.
