We RV and we enjoy wine. Bottle wine is heavy, breakable, and difficult to store in an RV. Box wine should be perfect for the RV, but is not known for its quality. We used to tease my mom who always had a box of wine in her frig, her favorite was white zinfandel but we like much heavier, bolder reds. Our favorites are cabernet, red zin, syrah/sirah, and malbec. I guess life comes full circle so let’s take a look at Black Box Wine.
Our first glass was not impressive, we judged it to be too sharp and too sweet. Later glasses on another day put it into the “jug” wine quality category. The cost put it into the $8 and $9 per bottle wine. Our daily drinking wine price goal is under $10, so, for the cost, the quality really doesn’t compare to good finds in the $10 range.
As an example, we just had a Bogle Petite Sirah which was twice the quality of Black Box Wine. Our cost for Bogle Petite Sirah was just under $10.
We give the Black Box Wine a thumbs down.
