As in normal fashion, our one night stop over became a week. We started by taking an extra day to relax and then realized what the area had to offer. Tonkawa was our home while Ponca City offered many varied opportunities for touring. One of the interesting aspects of the city is the architecture. Not only architecture was interesting but again we felt a connection to south Louisiana. Today there is still refinery operations in Ponca City. The city was rich in oil money and that wealth is shown in much of the architecture.
