The area around Lake Superior in Minnesota is full of hiking trails, waterways, and waterfalls. One of the more interesting waterfalls is Gooseberry Falls. Not that it is so much different from the others, but that you can get up close and personal without much effort.
This up closeness was hard for Laurie to handle at times since she has a fear of heights. We walked the top of the falls without as much as a fence to prevent anyone from going over. Laurie was very proud of herself for walking the top area.
We could also get close to the falls and if we had wanted to get wet, we could have walked behind the falls. It was too cold and we were not prepared for this activity. Just being able to get close and feel the power was enough for today.
The pictures say it all…from the power of the falls to the gentle flow of the river…
