The incident happened in 1947 north of Roswell and today the city capitalizes on the event and the cover up. Driving into Roswell the first thing we noticed were the alien figures on signs, in parking lots, painted on buildings. Even McDonalds had alien figures on its marque. Do you believe?

Why did we visit Roswell? It was on the way to Brackettville, TX and seemed like a good place to stop for the night. John always talked about visiting Roswell, something about genealogy research. He claims part of his family tree ends in Roswell. The Red Barn RV Park had an alien to welcome us as we pulled in. Cute little guy lounging on the welcome sign. Do you believe?

After set up, we headed to the UFO Museum. The museum is chocked full of information relating to the incident and the cover up. It is said a UFO aircraft crashed north of Roswell in 1947 with aliens on board. The aliens were taken to the military base at Roswell and the site was said to be the remains of a downed weather balloon. The museum has eye witness reports of the crash as well as the aliens. It was interesting to read the reports and decide what really happened. Do you believe?

There is a UFO Festival in July where believers and non-believers will debate what really happened on that day in 1947. In most respects it is your typical festival with parades, costume contests and entertainment. But then there are also guest speakers and authors to discuss the incident. Do you believe?
Life in Roswell appears to revolve around aliens. Not sure we could live with that everyday but it was fun to visit. The last thing we saw as we were driving out of town was what else, an alien.
