No Place to Run

There is no place to run; the heat is everywhere!

Leaving Lake Charles, LA we headed to Livingston, TX to check out Escapees National Headquarters and Rainbow’s End RV ParkEscapees is an organization catering to Full Time RVers offering mail forwarding services, RV insurance services,  financial planning  services, Escapees Care Center, easy access to Texas auto registration and licensing, etc.

We were not interested in any of the services; we just wanted to see the facility and what was offered for future reference.  We are not sure what we expected yet it was something different than we found.  The park charges members $15.50 per night with an additional 10.2 cents per kilowatt for electric usage; our rate came to $20.00 per night.  The park does not have free Wi-Fi; it is available from Tengo on a daily, weekly or monthly rate.

Our Sprint card worked on the fringe, not great.  We were lucky enough to have a site with a small tree and considering the temps were in the 100s, the shade helped.  The RV Park is grass and limestone with a few trees.  There are a large number of spaces with no more than 1/3 full.  There are also deeded lots as well as long term RV slips.

After setting up and turning on the A/C, we headed into the town of Livingston to see what it had to offer.  Livingston has a fair number of fast food eateries, a Wal-Mart, and a typical small town downtown.  We arrived on Sunday so nothing downtown was open.  Tomorrow we will return to visit the museum and walk around if the heat permits.

Just checking on you guys and see if you were on the move. and you are. so it’s hot Livingston, TX too. when do you think you are going to see some cooler temps on the travel game. I am at work today, so I’ll make this note short.

Enjoy yourselves. Know that Bob and I are thinking about you guys and can’t wait until we can experience that kind of camping. Cynthia and Red just got back from another Arkansas trip and they cannot stop talking about it.

    hugs. polly

Sorry about the delayed reply, we’ve had Internet connectivity problems. We’re finally beginning to cool off occasionally and looking forward to CO. Say in touch.
