Dos Salsas, Georgetown, TX

IMG_2838Our Saturday morning equation is breakfast out and a farmers market. Some mornings it is breakfast first and then shopping and other times it is reversed. The order does not matter, it is getting both accomplished that we look forward to.

Being in an area for one maybe two Saturday’s at most does not give us time to search out those out of the way hole in the walls places. So we rely on friends to steer us in the best direction. Continue reading

Freedom… Bush Library, College Station, TX

IMG_2786The Texas Mustangs want to run wild and free across the countryside. The people of Berlin, Germany wanted to be free to cross from East to West. Both groups had a desire for freedom and dreamed of one day being able to run, jump, and cross at will.

Approaching the Bush Library we were drawn to a sculpture on one side. At a distance we could tell it was large mustangs jumping over something. As we approached, we realized it was pieces of the Berlin Wall. Continue reading

Food Fight at New Republic Brewing, College Station, TX

IMG_2748Someone threw a roll, then someone else threw a kernel of corn, and so it began – food fight in the high school cafeteria. Not something you would want to be involved in later in life. So why would we intentionally go to a “food fight”?

This food fight was a lot different and involved food trucks, beer, wine, and bourbon. Wow, something for everyone and more. This is the type of food fight we could get involved in. Continue reading
